Job summary

John Wood Group PLC in the United Kingdom seeks expressions of interest for a Principal Civil & Structural Designer to support recent project wins. The role is based in Stockton and is expected onsite four days per week under a 6–12 month fixed-term contract.

You will prepare civil and structural models and drawings using E3D, Tekla, AutoCAD and CADS RC, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, check models, and guide junior designers while ensuring safety and regulatory standards are met.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil and structural design for onsite projects.
• Ability to produce detailed drawings to meet project standards.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and CDM principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil and structural models and drawings using E3D, Tekla, AutoCAD, and CADS RC.
• Produce steelwork, concrete, foundation, drainage and underground utility layouts.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and support junior designers.
• Ensure drawings meet schedules and quality standards and communicate design updates to Lead Designer/Lead Engineer.
