John Wood Group PLC in the United Kingdom seeks expressions of interest for a Principal Civil & Structural Designer to support recent project wins. The role is based in Stockton and is expected onsite four days per week under a 6–12 month fixed-term contract.

You will prepare civil and structural models and drawings using E3D, Tekla, AutoCAD and CADS RC, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, check models, and guide junior designers while ensuring safety and regulatory standards are met.

Formación

• Experience in civil and structural design for onsite projects.
• Ability to produce detailed drawings to meet project standards.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and CDM principles.

Wood is seeking expressions of Interest for new roles of Principal Civil & Structural designer to support with several recent project wins within the business. This role is expected to be recruited on a 6-12 month fixed term contract basis.

The role is based in our Stockton office and is expected onsite 4 days per week.

The Role

The role involves preparing Civil & Structural models and detailed drawings using E3D, Tekla, AutoCAD, and CADS RC. Responsibilities include producing steelwork, concrete, foundation, drainage, and underground utility layouts, while ensuring all drawings and models are delivered in line with project requirements, schedules, and quality standards.

The role also includes coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, carrying out drawing and model checks, participating in model reviews, and supporting junior designers where required. The position requires adherence to safety and CDM regulations, maintaining project standards, and communicating any design updates or changes to the Lead Designer or Lead Engineer.
