Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer in Liverpool to lead civil delivery across diverse sectors. The role covers drainage, SuDS and highway design for major developments, with hands-on project leadership and team mentoring.

You will oversee feasibility through detailed design, manage client relationships, and contribute to professional development within a growing Liverpool civils team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong UK development infrastructure consultancy experience.
• Chartered or working towards Chartership.

Responsibilities

• Lead drainage, SuDS, highways and development infrastructure design.
• Oversee projects from feasibility through detailed design and delivery.
• Prepare and review Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
• Provide technical review and guidance across the civils team.
• Manage client relationships, programmes and project delivery.
• Mentor engineers and technicians.
• Support the continued development of the civil engineering team.
