Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Liverpool team, taking on hands-on design, project responsibility and client liaison across development sectors.

You will lead drainage, SuDS and highway design, deliver Flood Risk Assessments, and mentor junior staff while building strong relationships with clients.

The role offers flexible hybrid working and progression within an established consultancy, with a salary in the £48,000–£58,000 range.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong development infrastructure design experience.
• Experience across drainage, SuDS and highways design.
• Knowledge of MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, PDS or Site 3D.
• Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
• Chartered or Incorporated status, or working towards qualification.
• Strong project management and client-facing capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design across development projects.
• Deliver drainage, SuDS, highways and external infrastructure designs.
• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
• Manage multiple projects and civil engineering design packages.
• Produce and review designs using Civil 3D, PDS, Site 3D and AutoCAD.
• Work closely with clients and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Help develop technical standards and influence the continued growth of the civil engineering team.
• Support and mentor less experienced engineers and technicians.
