Job summary

First People Solutions is supporting a multidisciplinary consulting engineer in recruiting a Principal Civil Engineer to lead major projects in Manchester. This role offers responsibility for directing project teams, technical direction and delivery to cost, programme and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Strong, well-rounded civil engineering experience
• Good knowledge of current civil design codes and standards
• Experience leading projects and design teams
• Experience across drainage, earthworks, highways, external works, foundations and site development
• Proven track record delivering projects and maintaining strong client relationships
• Experience working within technical assurance and quality processes
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing civil engineering project teams
• Providing technical direction and ensuring designs meet the required standards
• Working across a broad range of civil engineering disciplines including earthworks, drainage, highways and external works
• Ensuring compliance with CDM, health & safety and internal quality procedures
• Working closely with clients, project managers and other disciplines to ensure successful project delivery
• Supporting business improvements and implementing changes across projects
