Job summary

Penguin Recruitment in Liverpool is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to own civil design across development projects, including drainage, SuDS, highways and external infrastructure while maintaining client relationships.

You will work on multi‑million‑pound schemes, mentoring junior engineers and helping shape the growth of the civil engineering team, with hybrid working and support toward professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong development infrastructure design experience.
• Experience across drainage, SuDS and highways design.
• Knowledge of MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, PDS or Site 3D.
• Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
• Chartered or Incorporated status, or working towards professional qualification, would be advantageous.
• Strong project management and client-facing capability.

This Liverpool role combines hands‑on design, project responsibility and genuine progression within an established multidisciplinary consultancy.

The Opportunity

A growing engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Liverpool team. You will work across commercial, education, healthcare, residential and leisure developments, including major multi-million-pound projects.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will take responsibility for civil engineering design elements across multiple schemes, remaining technically involved while managing project delivery and building relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities
