Job summary

Caulmert Ltd is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer or experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Engineering Team. The role offers hybrid working in Greater Manchester or North Wales, with autonomy and collaboration across a broad client portfolio.

We require a Chartered or near-chartered professional with 7+ years post-qualification experience, strong design and project leadership skills, and a commitment to sustainable civil engineering practices.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 7 years post-qualification experience in civil engineering.
• Chartered or near-chartered status (MICE).
• Detailed knowledge of civil design and detailing using UK/European codes.
• Experience with BREEAM and sustainability objectives.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with design teams, contractors, and clients to coordinate technical detailing.
• Produce preliminary and detailed civil designs, calculations and specifications.
• Manage projects to cost, programme and sustainability targets.
• Supervise engineering technicians and mentor junior staff.
• Promote services and identify new business opportunities.
