BMSL Group Ltd is recruiting a Principal Civil Design Engineer to lead civil design across major UK water and infrastructure projects from our Bridgend office. You will mentor engineers and work within a multidisciplinary team, delivering practical, cost-effective solutions from concept through construction.

The role requires a degree in Civil Engineering, significant design experience, and strong knowledge of Eurocodes, with BIM-led delivery and stakeholder engagement being central to success.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant civil engineering design experience.
• Strong understanding of Eurocodes and UK design standards.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Commercial awareness with budget/resource management.
• Knowledge of BIM-led design processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of civil engineering design packages on a range of infrastructure projects.
• Manage project programmes, resources and budgets to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Produce and review design calculations, reports, drawings and technical documentation.
• Support BIM-led project delivery and adoption of modern engineering practices.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to Engineers, Graduates and Technicians.
• Work closely with clients, contractors and project delivery teams to develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, quality requirements and HSEQ procedures.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement across project delivery.
