Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Civil Design Engineer in the UK energy sector to lead civil solutions across projects such as energy-from-waste, solar, wind farms, substations, and interconnectors. You will develop technical designs, support FEED and detailed phases, and work with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals.

You will drive technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and help integrate civil design into overall project delivery, ensuring standards and client expectations are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Progress towards Chartered Engineer status with the Engineering Council and ICE (preferred).
• Strong experience delivering civil design within the Energy or Power sector.
• Solid understanding of industry standards, best practices, and innovative engineering solutions.
• Ideally, experience with National Grid Transmission procedures, though broader energy sector experience is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of civil engineering solutions across energy projects including FEED and detailed design.
• Develop technical solutions and produce detailed designs for projects.
• Support Project Managers and Team Leaders to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure alignment with objectives.
