Job summary

Stantec seeks a Principal Civil Design Engineer to lead civil engineering delivery across energy projects in the UK, including renewable energy, substations, interconnectors and HV/LV networks. You will support FEED and detailed design, develop technical solutions, and mentor junior engineers within multidisciplinary teams.

Based in the UK with hybrid working, you will shape project outcomes, drive standards, and collaborate with clients to deliver resilient, efficient energy infrastructure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Progress towards Chartered Engineer status with the Engineering Council and ICE (preferred).
• Strong experience delivering civil design within the Energy or Power sector.
• Solid understanding of industry standards and innovative engineering solutions.
• Experience with National Grid Transmission procedures is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of civil engineering solutions across energy projects.
• Develop technical solutions and produce detailed designs.
• Support FEED and detailed design phases and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Interface with clients to ensure practical, innovative, and standards-aligned outcomes.
