Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Civil Design Engineer to lead civil engineering efforts across a portfolio of energy projects, from FEED to detailed design. You will deliver technical solutions, develop designs, and support project managers to achieve successful outcomes.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate civil design into wider project delivery, mentoring junior engineers and advancing best practices to meet industry standards and environmental targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Progress towards Chartered Engineer status with the Engineering Council and ICE (preferred).
• Strong experience delivering civil design within the Energy or Power sector.
• Solid understanding of industry standards, best practices, and innovative engineering solutions.
• Ideally, experience with National Grid Transmission procedures, though broader energy sector experience is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of civil engineering solutions across energy projects including FEED and detailed design phases.
• Develop technical solutions and produce detailed designs for projects.
• Support Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate civil design into wider project delivery.
