Role Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Level Chartered Building Surveyor to join our established L&I Technical Due Diligence & Commercial Building Surveying team.

The core responsibilities will largely relate to commercial building surveying with a varied workload including professional and technical advisory.

The successful candidate will be expected to be technically excellent and have a broad range and experience of commercial surveying/consultancy. Additionally, the candidate should be able to commission and manage multiple instructions.

The job will involve a mixed and varied workload with the need to balance different instructions simultaneously.

The candidate will focus on service delivery, often working as part of a larger team, supporting to achieve exceptional outcomes for clients, and should be confident in dealing directly with clients.

The candidate will need to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and ensure profitability of instructions, with financial performance responsibility.

Role Accountabilities

• Perform commercial building surveying work along with some Project Management across various building types, primarily commercial. Experience in professional work such as dilapidations is desirable.
• Hold a high level of responsibility and accountability, with opportunities to develop managerial and technical skills within a growing team.
• Manage risk in service delivery and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate organic revenue growth and implement the business plan for the commercial building surveying offering.
• Manage and undertake professional technical consultancy commissions, including Technical Due Diligence, condition surveys, LTAs, PPM schedules, etc.
• Communicate effectively to ensure smooth project implementation and completion.
• Liaise with Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure efficient financial control and cost-effective service.
• Represent the company professionally and diligently.
• Provide regular updates to the Sector Director on contract progress.
• Support mentoring and supervision of junior building surveyors.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree and MRICS qualification (minimum 3 years PQE).
• Experience across multiple disciplines.
• Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships and gain confidence from professionals both within and outside the company.
