We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Level Chartered Building Surveyor to join our established Technical Due Diligence & Building Surveying team.

The core responsibilities will largely relate to transactional based instructions across the UK with the opportunity to assist on pan-European projects also. The workload will be varied and include a mixture of technical advisory and some professional and heritage project work, with flexibility potentially to accommodate the specific skill sets and aspirations of the applicant.

The successful candidate will be expected to be technically excellent and have a broad range and experience of commercial surveying including Technical Due Diligence (TDD) and Condition Surveys. Additionally, the candidate should be able to manage multiple instructions.

The job will involve a mixed and varied workload with often the need to balance different instructions simultaneously.

The candidate will focus on service delivery, often working as part of a larger team and supporting to achieve exceptional outcomes for clients. Confidence in dealing directly with clients is essential.

The candidate will be required to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and ensure that time spent aligns with the cost forecast to ensure profitability of instructions (financial performance responsibility).

• The key focus will be around TDD advice and reporting to identify key risks, the severity and quantification of these risks, along with recommendations for mitigation. The role includes predominantly Technical Due Diligence along with some professional work across a range of building types, largely commercial, with some heritage work.
• The position includes a relatively high level of responsibility and accountability, with opportunities to develop managerial as well as technical skills, and to progress within a successful and growing team.
• You will manage and undertake professional technical consultancy commissions including Technical Due Diligence, condition surveys, and infrequently dilapidations and other projects.
• You will effectively communicate to ensure all information is available for the successful implementation and completion of projects.
• Liaise with Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure efficient financial control, resulting in a cost-effective service.
• You will ensure the Sector Director has quantified information on the progress of each contract regularly.
• Support mentoring and supervising junior building surveyors.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Building Surveying and MRICS qualified
• Excellent technical ability.

• Manage quality standards to ensure high-quality output.
• Understanding of transaction processes, including funder requirements.
