Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant in Vale of Glamorgan to support learning and wellbeing. You will work with the class teacher to create inclusive activities, assist with reading, writing and numeracy, and help pupils develop independence and confidence throughout the school day.

Ideal candidates will have experience with children, be patient and reliable, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team within a nurturing primary school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Ability to support learning in both 1:1 and small-group settings.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with engaging and age-appropriate learning activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
• Help pupils develop reading, writing, phonics and numeracy skills.
• Encourage positive behaviour and active engagement in learning.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials.
• Observe pupils and share feedback with the teacher.
