Job summary

Academics is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Monmouthshire to recruit a Primary Teaching Assistant. You will support the class teacher with daily activities and work with individuals and small groups to raise attainment.

You'll help pupils stay focused, encourage positive behaviour, and assist with classroom organisation and transitions while building positive relationships with children and staff.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Appropriate Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration.
• Two recent professional references.
• Previous experience working with children is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily learning activities.
• Work with individuals and small groups.
• Help pupils stay focused and engaged with their work.
• Encourage positive behaviour and independence.
• Provide additional support to pupils.
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation.
• Support pupils during transitions, break times and other activities where required.
• Developing positive relationships with children and staff.
