Job summary

Academics is recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant in Monmouthshire to support a loving, inclusive classroom environment and help children become confident, independent learners. You will work alongside experienced staff, assisting with daily activities and transitions.

The role focuses on pupils' engagement, behaviour support, and individual or small-group assistance, with a dedicated consultant to guide your placement and a pay policy aligned with the client school.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Appropriate Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration.
• Two recent professional references.
• Previous experience working with children is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the class teacher with daily learning activities.
• Working with individuals and small groups.
• Helping pupils stay focused and engaged with their work.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and independence.
• Providing additional support to pupils.
• Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation.
• Supporting pupils during transitions, break times and other activities where required.
• Developing positive relationships with children and staff.
