Academics with a specialist education remit is working with a welcoming primary school in Monmouthshire to recruit a friendly Teaching Assistant. You will support the class teacher with daily activities, work with individuals and groups, and help pupils stay focused throughout the day.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, positive behaviour, and building strong relationships with children and staff. DBS/EWC checks and references are part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration.
• Two recent professional references.
• Willingness to complete our straightforward registration process.
• Previous experience working with children is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the class teacher with daily learning activities.
• Working with individuals and small groups.
• Helping pupils stay focused and engaged with their work.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and independence.
• Providing additional support to pupils.
• Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation.
• Supporting pupils during transitions, break times and other activities where required.
