Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to support EYFS, KS1 and KS2 across Surrey schools. You will assist the class teacher with daily lesson preparation, lead small group interventions in phonics, reading, writing and numeracy, and provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with primary-aged children in schools, nurseries, or youth work.
• Patient, proactive and empathetic approach to teaching support.
• Strong communication skills in English for classroom support.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Right to work in the UK and easy access to Surrey schools.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with daily lesson preparation, resource management, and classroom setup.
• Lead small group interventions in phonics, early reading, writing, and numeracy.
• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, or speech and language delays.
• Encourage positive behaviour, social development, and active engagement in the primary classroom.
• Support outdoor play, creative activities, and EYFS play-based learning.
