Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking Primary Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in Surrey and surrounding areas. Roles include flexible day-to-day supply and longer-term contracts, with opportunities to work in preferred year groups and contribute to early literacy and numeracy development.

You will provide 1:1 support, run small group interventions, and assist with lesson prep while promoting positive behaviour and inclusive practices.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children (schools, nurseries, sports coaching, or youth work).
• A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to primary education.
• Strong communication skills and confident foundational English and Maths.
• An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Right to work in the UK and easy access to primary schools in surrey

Responsibilities

• Assist the primary class teacher with daily lesson preparation, resource management, and classroom setup.
• Lead small group interventions in phonics, early reading, writing, and numeracy.
• Provide 1:1 support for primary pupils with additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, or speech and language delays.
• Encourage positive behaviour, social development, and active engagement in the primary classroom.
• Support outdoor play, creative activities, and EYFS play-based learning.
