Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to support young learners across Surrey in EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Roles range from flexible day-to-day supply to longer-term contracts, with opportunities to work in diverse primary settings and year groups.

You will assist teachers, lead focused small-group sessions, and provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, including ASD/ADHD or speech delays. DBS update preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children in schools, nurseries, sports coaching, or youth work.
• Patient, proactive and empathetic approach to primary education.
• Strong foundational English and Maths and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Right to work in the UK and willing to travel to Surrey area.

Responsibilities

• Assist the primary class teacher with daily lesson preparation, resource management, and classroom setup.
• Lead small group interventions in phonics, early reading, writing, and numeracy.
• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, or speech and language delays.
• Encourage positive behaviour, social development, and active engagement in the classroom.
• Support outdoor play, creative activities, and EYFS play-based learning.
