Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to support EYFS, KS1 and KS2 across Surrey and surrounding areas. Flexible supply and long-term contracts available, ideal for graduates or experienced assistants.

You will support teachers with lesson prep, run small group interventions in phonics and maths, provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, encourage positive behaviour and participate in EYFS play-based learning. DBS helpful.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children (schools, nurseries, sports coaching, or youth work).
• A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to primary education.
• Strong communication skills and confident foundational English and Maths.
• An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Right to work in the UK and easy access to primary schools in surrey

Responsibilities

• Assist the primary class teacher with daily lesson preparation, resource management, and classroom setup.
• Lead small group interventions in phonics, early reading, writing, and numeracy.
• Provide 1:1 support for primary pupils with additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, or speech and language delays.
• Encourage positive behaviour, social development, and active engagement in the primary classroom.
• Support outdoor play, creative activities, and EYFS play-based learning.
