Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a committed Year 2 Primary Teacher for a two-form entry school in Walsall. The role requires delivery of engaging KS1 lessons, strong support for phonics and early reading, and effective assessment to track pupil progress.

The school offers a supportive environment with a Good Ofsted rating and opportunities for longer-term or permanent employment. Starting November, the contract is full-time.

Qualifications

• QTS required and KS1 experience preferred.
• Experience teaching Year 2 or KS1 is desirable.
• Strong understanding of Year 2 curriculum and assessment strategies.
• Confident in teaching early reading, phonics, writing and mathematics.
• Demonstrates strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 national curriculum.
• Prepare pupils for end-of-Key Stage 1 assessments, including phonics, reading, writing and mathematics where appropriate.
• Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, identify learning needs and support pupil attainment.
• Establish a positive classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour, achievement and inclusion.
• Differentiate lessons to meet varying abilities and provide additional support where needed.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents to promote pupil progress and wellbeing.

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Primary Teacher looking for your next opportunity in Walsall?

We are working in partnership with a welcoming, two-form entry primary school rated 'Good' by Ofsted, who are seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join their supportive and hardworking team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who can create an engaging learning environment, inspire young learners and support pupils as they build confidence and prepare for the transition into Key Stage 2.

The Role - Year 2 Teacher

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 national curriculum.


• Prepare pupils for their end-of-Key Stage 1 assessments, including phonics, reading, writing and mathematics where appropriate.


• Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, identify learning needs and support pupil attainment.


• Establish a positive classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour, achievement and inclusion.


• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including those requiring additional support.


• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents to promote pupil progress and wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).


• Has experience teaching Year 2 or across Key Stage 1, although strong primary practitioners with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.


• Has a secure understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and effective assessment strategies.


• Is confident in teaching early reading, phonics, writing and mathematics.


• Demonstrates strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.


• Is enthusiastic, nurturing and committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
