Job summary

Sprint Education Recruitment is recruiting a dedicated Primary Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Telford from January 2027. This maternity cover runs from January to July 2027 with potential for extension.

You will teach Year 2, plan engaging lessons, mark and assess, monitor progress and support pupils with a friendly Teaching Assistant and school team.

Qualifications

• Has experience teaching within a primary school.
• Is confident teaching a Year 2 class.
• Can take full class responsibility.
• Has strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Is confident with planning, marking and assessment.
• Builds positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Is organised, reliable and enthusiastic.

Job description

We are recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Primary Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Telford from January 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for a Year 2 class on a maternity cover basis, initially running from January until July 2027, with the potential for the role to continue beyond this date.

The Role

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 2 curriculum
• Completing marking and assessment
• Monitoring and supporting pupil progress
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Working closely with the school's experienced Teaching Assistant
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider school team
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning

The school is very welcoming and supportive, and there will be a handover period with the current class teacher to ensure a smooth transition before the maternity leave begins.

You will also have the support of an experienced Teaching Assistant who already works within the class.

Salary: Dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
