Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Primary Teacher to join a welcoming Primary School in Rochdale on a day-to-day, short-term or long-term basis, starting in September. This role is temporary and your responsibilities include delivering engaging lessons and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

You will work closely with school staff to monitor pupil progress, safeguard pupils, and adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Recent experience working in a school or education setting.
• Strong understanding of the KS1/KS2 national curriculum.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs.
• Collaborate effectively as part of a supportive school team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons following lesson plans and provide engaging, age-appropriate teaching.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful learning environment following school policies.
• Monitor pupils' progress, provide appropriate support and adapt activities as needed.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to contribute to the wider school community.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Deliver planned lessons- Follow lesson plans and provide engaging, age-appropriate teaching that supports pupils' learning.
• Manage classroom behaviour- Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful learning environment using the school's behaviour policies.
• Support pupil progress- Monitor pupils' understanding, provide appropriate support, and adapt activities where necessary.
• Safeguard pupils- Follow safeguarding procedures, promote pupil wellbeing, and report any concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
• Work collaboratively with the school- Communicate effectively with teachers and support staff, follow school policies, and contribute positively to the wider school community.

Requirements or Skills:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Recent experience working in a school or education setting
• Strong understanding of the KS1/KS2 national curriculum
• Excellent communication, classroom management & behaviour management skills
• Strong competency in adapting teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs
• Comfortable working collaboratively as part of the supportive school team
