Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated KS1 Teacher for a Primary School in Oldham. The role is available on a day-to-day, short-term or long-term basis starting in September, and is a temporary assignment.

You will join a caring, community-focused setting that values respect, inclusion and collaboration, helping pupils build confidence and a love of learning. Newly qualified or experienced teachers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Recent experience in a school or education setting, KS1 preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 national curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching to diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborative working within a supportive school team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging KS1 lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Establish positive classroom management and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support early learning in phonics, reading, writing, mathematics and communication.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.

We're currently recruiting for a Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teacher to join a Primary School in Oldham on a day-to-day, short-term or long-term basis Starting in September. This role is temporary.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Newly Qualified or Experienced Teaching Assistant to become a valued member of the team and build strong, trusting relationships with pupils. You'll play an important role in supporting children both academically and personally, helping them feel confident and motivated throughout their school journey.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Deliver engaging KS1 lessons - Teach planned lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum, adapting activities and resources to meet the needs and abilities of pupils.
  • Establish positive classroom management - Set clear expectations, manage behaviour effectively, and create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support early learning and development - Develop pupils' core skills in phonics, reading, writing, mathematics, and communication while encouraging confidence, independence, and curiosity.
  • Monitor and support pupil progress - Assess pupils' understanding during lessons, provide appropriate support or challenge, and record relevant feedback for the class teacher.
  • Work collaboratively with the school- Communicate effectively with teachers and support staff, follow school policies, and contribute positively to the wider school community.
Requirements or Skills:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting - preferably in KS1
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 national curriculum
  • Excellent communication, classroom management & behaviour management skills
  • Strong competency in adapting teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs
  • Comfortable working collaboratively as part of the supportive school team
