Job summary

GSL Education Hull Branch are recruiting enthusiastic Primary Teachers to work across primary schools in Hull. This role is temporary, full-time, term-time only, with start as soon as possible and a salary scale of £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS).

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, support pupils' academic, social and emotional development, and work with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents to promote inclusion and positive behaviour.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching practices.
• Experience teaching primary-aged pupils; Early Career Teachers are welcome.
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Holds an up-to-date CV and can provide references covering the last two years.
• Right to work in the UK and DBS checks as required.

About the Role

As a Primary Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom where children feel encouraged to participate, explore new ideas, and develop a lifelong love of learning. You will also adapt your teaching to meet different abilities and learning needs, helping every pupil make progress.

Core Responsibilities of the Primary Teacher

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum, tailored to pupils' ages and abilities.
• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and curiosity.
• Assess pupils' learning, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback to support development.
• Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the needs of pupils with different abilities, including those with SEND.
• Promote positive behaviour, good learning habits, and respectful relationships in the classroom.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support pupils' academic and personal development.

As the Ideal Primary Teacher, You Should Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching practices.
• Experience teaching primary-aged pupils, although Early Career Teachers are also welcome to apply.
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Strong communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills.
• A flexible, patient, and enthusiastic approach, with a genuine commitment to helping every child reach their potential.

To Work with GSL Education, You Must

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Hold an up-to-date CV and provide references covering the last two years.
• Have recent experience working with children or young people.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
