Job summary

Salary Scale: £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently recruiting for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Science Teacher to work within a supportive secondary school environment in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed educator who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain high expectations, and encourage students to develop a genuine interest in Science.

About the Role

As a Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and purposeful lessons across the secondary Science curriculum, helping students develop their scientific knowledge, practical skills, and confidence. You will create a positive classroom environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and apply their understanding to real-world situations.

Core Responsibilities of the Science Teacher:

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons that meet curriculum requirements and learning objectives.
• Develop students' scientific knowledge, practical skills, enquiry, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Differentiate teaching and learning activities to meet a range of abilities and individual needs.
• Maintain positive classroom behaviour and create a safe, inclusive, and purposeful learning environment.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic development.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to students' progress and wider educational experience.

As the Ideal Science Teacher, You Should Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge across the secondary Science curriculum.
• Previous experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school setting.
• Confidence managing practical activities and maintaining appropriate health and safety standards.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
• A passionate, enthusiastic, and student-focused approach to teaching and learning.

To Work with GSL Education, You Must:

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Provide an up-to-date CV and references covering the last 2 years.
• Have recent experience working with children or young people.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
