Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to support young learners across Surrey and surrounding areas. Flexible day-to-day supply and long-term contracts are available, with placements across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Role involves 1:1 support, small group interventions, and helping with phonics, reading, writing and numeracy. DBS checks and right to work in the UK are required, with placements mainly in primary schools.

Qualifications

• Experience with primary-aged children in schools, nurseries, sports coaching, or youth work.
• Patient, proactive and empathetic approach to primary education.
• Strong communication skills and foundational English and Maths.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Right to work in the UK and easy access to primary schools in Surrey

Responsibilities

• Assist the primary class teacher with daily lesson preparation, resource management, and classroom setup.
• Lead small group interventions in phonics, early reading, writing, and numeracy.
• Provide 1:1 support for primary pupils with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, or speech and language delays.
• Encourage positive behaviour, social development, and active engagement in the primary classroom.
• Support outdoor play, creative activities, and EYFS play-based learning.
