Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support EYFS, KS1, and KS2 across Surrey and surrounding areas. You will assist teachers, run small group interventions, and provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, or speech and language delays.

A DBS update service and right to work in the UK are required. We offer flexible scheduling (daily supply or long-term contracts), competitive pay (£85–£105 per day), weekly PAYE, and free CPD training in

Qualifications

• Previous experience with primary-aged children (schools, nurseries, youth work) or related setting.
• Patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to primary education.
• Good communication skills and confidence in basic English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with daily lesson prep, resources, and classroom setup.
• Lead small group interventions in phonics, early reading, writing and numeracy.
• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs (ASD, ADHD, speech and language delays).
• Encourage positive behaviour, social development and active classroom engagement.
• Support outdoor play and EYFS play-based learning.
