Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a mainstream primary in Huyton. Within a nurturing environment, you will assist pupils with a range of needs and help them access learning from September.

The role involves working 1:1 and in small groups, using PECs/Makaton and routines to support engagement and progression. Full-time, long-term position with potential permanent opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with ASC, SEMH and complex needs in classroom and 1:1 settings.
• Deliver adapted learning activities to small intervention groups.
• Help children access learning, develop independence and build confidence.
• Use communication tools, visual aids and structured routines to support engagement.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social interaction.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Support personal care needs where required.
