Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist primary school in North Manchester. Start in September, with opportunities to develop skills across SEND disciplines in a collaborative team with teachers, SENCO and therapists.

The role offers one-to-one and small group support, adapts learning activities for diverse needs, and includes safeguarding and wellbeing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in school or care settings is desirable.
• Patient, compassionate and committed to helping every child achieve their goals.
• Comfortable supporting personal care when required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Support children with Autism, PMLD, SLD, SLCN, SEMH needs using tailored strategies
• Adapt activities using visual resources and sensory approaches to individual learning styles
• Assist pupils with personal care, feeding and mobility as required
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning programmes
• Implement EHCP strategies and monitor pupil progress
• Foster safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour through nurturing approaches
• Prepare classroom resources and manage daily routines including transitions
• Support a calm, inclusive classroom environment promoting engagement
