Job summary

Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Specialist / Behaviour Mentor to join a Leicester primary SEND & SEMH specialist school. You will work Monday to Friday, 8:45am-3:45pm, providing proactive behavioural support to pupils with complex needs and helping them engage with learning.

The role requires resilience, initiative and a commitment to safeguarding, with a focus on building positive relationships and restoring emotional regulation to support progress.

Qualifications

• Experience in behaviour support and safeguarding in a school context.
• Knowledge of SEMH, PRU, or specialist provision settings is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills with pupils, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive behavioural support to pupils with complex needs.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and manage conflict using de-escalation techniques.
• Create a safe, structured learning environment and encourage engagement in lessons.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and the pastoral team to implement behaviour plans.
• Contribute to individual behaviour strategies and monitor progress.
