Job summary

Principal Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor for a specialist secondary school in Slough, supporting pupils aged 11 to 19 with SEMH and EHCP needs.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups to manage behaviour and emotions, following each pupil's behaviour plan, and running restorative conversations in a caring, professional team. DBS check required or willing to obtain, with two references.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a PRU, AP, SEMH school, inclusion unit or pastoral setting.
• Strong ability to manage challenging behaviours and support emotional needs.
• Resilience, calm in challenging situations, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow pupil-specific plans.
• Willingness to undertake training such as Team Teach or PRICE if required.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to manage behaviour and emotions.
• Spot early signs of escalation and intervene appropriately.
• De-escalate incidents and follow each pupil's behaviour plan.
• Run restorative conversations to help pupils repair and move on.
• Be a consistent, positive role model throughout the day.
