Job summary

Clarence Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Leicester. The role supports teachers and pupils across the primary curriculum, helping to build confidence and ensure a positive learning environment.

You will assist with small-group work, resource preparation and safeguarding, contributing to pupil progress and wellbeing throughout the school day.

Qualifications

Experience with children in a school, childcare or similar environment is desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Patient, caring and supportive approach is valued.

Responsibilities

Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the primary curriculum.
Assisting pupils individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
Preparing classroom resources and learning materials for daily activities.
Encouraging pupils to participate fully in lessons and activities.
Supporting children with varying academic, social and emotional needs.
Promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies and values.
Helping to create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
Assisting with monitoring and recording pupil progress.
Supporting literacy, numeracy and intervention programmes as required.
Supervising pupils during breaks, visits and extracurricular activities.
Working with teachers, parents and external professionals to support pupil development.
Providing pastoral support and promoting children's wellbeing throughout the day
