Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is working with a primary school in the BS9 area of Bristol to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will provide 1-1 support to a pupil with additional needs and assist the wider class.

This is a varied, rewarding role with 8:30am-3:30pm hours, Monday to Friday, and a commitment to safeguarding. Benefits include competitive PAYE rates, weekly pay and access to CPD and training through Teaching Personnel.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school setting (essential).
• Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1-1 support to a pupil with additional needs.
• Supporting the wider class as a general Teaching Assistant.
• Helping children access learning and stay engaged with activities.
• Working with small groups and individual children as needed.
• Supporting transitions, daily routines and tasks throughout the school day.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours; supporting social skills, communication and emotional regulation.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress.
