Job summary

TeacherActive Limited in the West Midlands is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school on a term-time basis, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm. The role offers a daily rate of £95-£110, depending on experience.

You will build rapport with pupils needing additional support, and provide 1:1 time outside the classroom when required, helping children who are upset, anxious, or dysregulated.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs is desirable.
• Calm, patient, and nurturing approach to helping children regulate emotions.
• Able to respond to challenging behaviours in a positive and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with students who need additional support in class.
• Provide 1:1 support outside the classroom when needed.
• Support students with emotional and behavioural needs to stay ready to learn.

We are supporting a welcoming mainstream primary school, that are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team during term time with immediate start. In this role you will need to build rapport with students in the school who need additional support, both within the classroom, and also supporting some of them 1:1 in some quiet time outside the classroom, if they need time out to work in a more focused area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is calm under pressure, resilient, and passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children who may require additional behavioural and emotional support throughout the school day.

What We're Looking For:

• Confidence in managing and responding to challenging behaviours in a positive and professional manner
• The ability to support children who may arrive at school upset, anxious, or dis regulated
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach when helping children regulate their emotions
• The ability to think quickly on your feet and adapt to changing situations throughout the school day
• Strong relationship-building skills to help pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn
• Experience working with children with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs is desirable
