Job summary

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated Primary Maths Intervention Tutor to support learners across Wrexham. You will deliver tailored 1:1 maths sessions to strengthen number knowledge, arithmetic and problem-solving.

Identify gaps, plan engaging activities, and adapt resources to different learning styles while monitoring progress. UK work rights and an enhanced DBS are required; QTS/PGCE is desirable.

Primary Maths Intervention Tutor - Wrexham

Location: Wrexham, North Wales

Hours: 5-15 hours per week

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a supportive and engaging Primary Maths Intervention Tutor to work with learners across Wrexham. This role is ideal for an educator who can make Mathematics accessible, strengthen foundational skills and help primary-aged pupils develop confidence in their learning.

The Role:

• Deliver tailored 1:1 Maths intervention sessions.
• Reinforce number knowledge, arithmetic, times tables and problem-solving.
• Identify gaps in foundational mathematical understanding.
• Plan engaging activities suited to each pupils age and ability.
• Adapt resources to support different learning styles and needs.
• Encourage positive learning habits and monitor progress.

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• QTS, PGCE or an equivalent relevant teaching qualification is desirable.
• Good knowledge of the primary Maths curriculum.
• Experience working with primary-aged pupils.
• Experience supporting learners who need additional help with core skills is advantageous.
• A creative, patient and encouraging approach.

To be eligible for this role, the tutor must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
• Provide two professional references, including child-related references.
