Job summary

Prospero Teaching is looking for a confident Maths Tutor to deliver targeted GCSE intervention to secondary-aged pupils who require additional support with their learning. About the Role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a confident Maths Tutor to deliver targeted GCSE intervention to secondary-aged pupils who require additional support with their learning. You will help learners address gaps in mathematical knowledge, strengthen problem-solving skills and prepare for GCSE assessments through structured, engaging one-to-one sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised GCSE Maths tuition
• Reinforce algebra, number, geometry, ratio and percentages
• Identify areas for improvement and adapt lesson content accordingly
• Prepare learners for examinations and assessments
• Track progress and encourage independent learning

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS, PGCE or an equivalent relevant qualification desirable
• Strong knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience
• Experience supporting pupils who need additional academic intervention
• Excellent communication and lesson-planning skills

Essential Requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain the required clearance
• Two professional references
