Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for primary schools in Gateshead. The role supports pupils in classrooms and through small group or one-to-one interventions, working closely with teachers to create a positive learning environment.

Ideal candidates have prior experience with children, strong communication, and a commitment to safeguarding. Start from September with school-based, long-term or flexible opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children (preferably in a primary school or educational setting).
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs (desirable).
• A patient, caring, and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who require additional help.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs, including those with SEND.
• Encourage pupil participation, confidence and independence in learning.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
