Job summary

Milk Education in Newcastle is partnering with a local primary school to recruit a Learning Support Assistant for a full-time, September 2026 start. You will work across the classroom to support pupils and collaborate with teachers to ensure learners receive the help they need.

This is a varied role requiring patience, reliability and strong communication. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, reinforce literacy and numeracy, promote positive behaviour and help pupils build confidence

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children is desirable.
• Experience in a school, nursery, childcare or youth setting would be beneficial.
• Reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable.
• Able to build positive relationships with children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Committed to creating a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during lessons and independent learning activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Reinforce learning in literacy, numeracy and other curriculum areas.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and preparation.
• Encourage positive behaviour and active participation.
• Help pupils develop confidence and independence.
• Support children with a range of abilities and learning needs.
