Job summary

Milk Education is partnering with a primary school in North Tyneside to recruit a Primary Learning Support Assistant for a full-time role starting September 2026. You will support pupils academically and socially, helping them thrive in a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate has prior experience with primary children, a calm and encouraging approach, strong organisational and communication skills, and the ability to adapt to different learners.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
• Calm, positive and encouraging approach.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to adapt to the needs of different learners.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's education and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Work with small groups to reinforce learning activities.
• Support children who may require additional help with literacy, numeracy or communication skills.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Assist with classroom preparation and learning resources.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
