Job summary

New Directions Education is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work in primary schools in the Neath/Port Talbot area. You will support groups of pupils across Key Stages, helping the class teacher with day-to-day activities.

Roles available as full-time or part-time, hours 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, pay £95 per day. We welcome candidates with Teaching Assistant qualifications or experience in ALN, ASD, Dyslexia or other needs.

Qualifications

• Teaching/learning or classroom assistants are vital resources for teachers.
• NVQ/HLTA/ CACHE qualifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction of the head teacher and class teachers.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and monitor progress.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable participation.
• Assist with maintaining student records and support for students with emotional or behavioural difficulties.
