Job summary

New Directions Education in Neath and Port Talbot is seeking a Welsh-speaking Learning Support Assistant to work in primary schools. The role supports groups of pupils across Key Stages, assisting the class teacher with daily activities and resources, 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Positions available in full-time and part-time formats. Pay rate is £95 per day, with potential for experience in Welsh-medium education and contributing to a positive learning environment for students’ development.

Qualifications

• 3 months minimum experience with children or a child-based qualification.
• Welsh medium school experience is preferred.
• Transferable experience in social care, coaching or nursing considered.

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher in delivering lessons and activities in a safe, engaging manner.
• Assist with preparation of lesson plans and learning resources.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support classroom management.
• Support individual students inside and outside the classroom as needed.
