Job summary

Milk Education are currently supporting a welcoming primary school in North Tyneside to recruit a Learning Support Assistant on a full-time basis. You will work with the class teacher and school team to support pupils across the classroom, delivering engaging activities and providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support.

The role focuses on helping pupils learn, build confidence and independence, and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment while assisting with general classroom duties.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education.
• Patient, nurturing and approachable.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Proactive and willing to get stuck in.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their learning and development.
• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Help pupils build confidence and independence.
• Support positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom.
• Create a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
• Assist with general classroom duties and preparation.
