Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to support pupils across North Durham in in-person roles. You will work with individuals or small groups, help pupils develop communication and self-management skills, and promote engagement in lessons.

This role values safeguarding, confidentiality, and consistent school policy adherence. Ideal candidates have a positive attitude, calm approach, strong communication, and a relevant Level 2/3 qualification or equivalent hands-on

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children's learning.
• Patience and a calm approach to assisting others.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred).
• Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills.
• Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance.
• Inspire children to engage in lessons consistently.
• Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies.
