Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a Primary School in Prudhoe on a long- or short-term basis starting in September. The role focuses on supporting pupils with learning gaps, wellbeing and inclusion, with opportunities for CPD and flexible working patterns.

This position offers a pathway to develop familiarity within a school community that values wellbeing and consistency, with access to Milk Education’s support network and resources.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Strong understanding of diverse learning needs including SEND and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient with calmness in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Help deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps.
• Support pupils' emotional wellbeing, behaviour and social development; promote independence.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum and meet learning goals.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet diverse needs of pupils, including SEND.
