Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Primary Intervention Support Assistant to deliver targeted interventions across Reading, Writing and Maths in Primary Schools around Jarrow. The role suits qualified Teaching Assistants, Education graduates, or experienced intervention practitioners seeking short-term and long-term assignments starting in September.

You will support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, work with teachers on learning plans, monitor progress, and adapt activities to meet individual

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, relevant education qualification, or a degree related to education, child development or a curriculum subject.
• Previous experience delivering interventions within a Primary School setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Primary curriculum, particularly English and Maths.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive and nurturing approach to supporting children's learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions in Reading, Writing and Maths across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis to close learning gaps and boost attainment.
• Work alongside class teachers to implement intervention programmes and individual learning plans.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Adapt resources and learning activities to meet the needs of individual learners.
• Support pupils' confidence, engagement and independence within the classroom.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a supportive learning environment.
