Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated Primary Intervention Support Assistant to work across Boldon primary schools from September. You will deliver targeted Reading, Writing and Maths interventions and support pupils one-to-one and in small groups to close learning gaps.

Ideal candidates include qualified Teaching Assistants, Education graduates or experienced intervention practitioners with DBS and strong knowledge of the Primary curriculum.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, relevant education qualification, or a degree related to education, child development or a curriculum subject.
• Previous experience delivering interventions within a Primary School setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Primary curriculum, particularly English and Maths.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive and nurturing approach to supporting children's learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions in Reading, Writing and Maths across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis to close learning gaps and boost attainment.
• Work alongside class teachers to implement intervention programmes and individual learning plans.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Adapt resources and learning activities to meet the needs of individual learners.
• Support pupils' confidence, engagement and independence within the classroom.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a supportive learning environment.
