Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting for a Primary Intervention Support Assistant to work across welcoming primary schools in South Shields, starting in September. This role suits qualified Teaching/Learning Support Assistants, education graduates, or experienced intervention practitioners who help children reach their full potential.

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• Experience delivering interventions in primary school setting
• Strong knowledge of the Primary curriculum, especially English and Maths
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Proactive and nurturing approach to support children's learning

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions in Reading, Writing and Maths across EYFS to KS2.
• Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups to close gaps and boost attainment.
• Work with class teachers to implement intervention programmes and individual learning plans.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learner needs.
• Support pupils' confidence, engagement and independence in the classroom.
• Promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
