Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting an Intervention Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in North Shields, starting September. You will deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions and support pupils in 1:1 and small-group settings.

The role involves working closely with teachers to help children overcome barriers and achieve targets, building confidence and resilience in a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Confidence delivering interventions to individuals and small groups.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging literacy and numeracy intervention sessions.
• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Help children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual targets.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, resilience and independence.
• Create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Support pupils across KS1 and KS2 where required.
